Company history
In 1967, the predecessor of Guilin Power Capacitor Co., Ltd., namely Guilin Power Capacitor Factory, was established.（The following text is referred to as Guirong company or Guirong factory.）
In July 1970, the first batch of shunt capacitors and electric heating capacitors produced by Guirong Factory were successfully tested and produced.
In January 1985, Guirong Factory transferred to the administration of Guilin City.
In July 1988, in order to meet the needs of enterprise management and factory development, with the approval of the Guilin Economic Commission, Guilin Power Capacitor Factory was officially renamed Guilin Power Capacitor General Factory (referred to as Guirong General Factory for short).
In 1988, Guirong Factory was list as a national second-level enterprise in the mechanical and electronic industry for the year 1987.
In 1992, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guilin City designated Guilin Power Capacitor Factory as the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot units for "liberate operations and transform operation mechanisms".
In 1993, Guirong Factory was recognized by the National Bureau of Statistics as one of China's 500 largest electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing enterprises, and was designated as a “national large-scale second-class enterprise” by the Guangxi Enterprise Type Classification Leading Group.
In January 2006, Guirong General Factory was awarded the title of "Leading Enterprise in China's Industrial Industry". Among the national power capacitor industry, only Guirong General Factory has received this honor.
In October 2006, Guirong General Factory was successfully restructured, and Guilin Power Capacitor Co., Ltd., controlled by Baiyun Electric Group, held a listing ceremony, announcing the birth of the company as a mixed ownership enterprise with private ownership, marking the official operation of the new system and new business mechanism.
In 2007, The Tieshan Industrial Park, which was built with over 300 million yuan and put into operation by the company , is currently the largest and most advanced capacitor production base in the world.
In 2009, the UHV capacitor production base was established, which was the largest UHV capacitor production base in Asia at that time.
In 2013, Guirong Company was approved as a national experimental research and development center for UHV capacitors, only three in Guangxi.
In 2015, Guirong Company was awarded the National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, the only company in Guangxi to be list.
On June 1, 2017, Guirong Company celebrated its 50th anniversary of establishment.
In 2017, Guirong Company invested in the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary - Guilin Zhiyuan Power Electronics Co., Ltd. Its power electronics industry base project has a total planned investment of 1.2 billion yuan and covers an area of 240 acres. It is mainly used for the research and development, production of electrical system integrated control equipment, energy-saving control systems, and power electronics components and other power electronics energy-saving equipment systems.
In 2018, Guirong Company established a dry-type capacitor production base.
In 2020, Guirong Company added a new production line for current transformers.
In 2022, Guirong Company built a sheet metal production line.
In 2022, Guirong Company was approved as a national specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise.
In 2023, Guirong Company was approved as a postdoctoral research workstation.
In 2024, Guirong Company was awarded the national KEY specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise.
In 2024, Guirong Company was awarded the title of National Green Factory.
